Well, this forum is awful quiet so I thought I'd post a hello and some pictures....if I can figure out how to do that!

Back from the Clipper and Mandalay the first two weeks of Feb and had the opportunity to do a check-ride and then a flight out of St Lucia Castries in an old 1965 C172. A great flight, I took up the Activities Mates from both ships plus Sly from the Clipper. I figured hey, he lets me steer his ship so I'll let him fly my plane! He had fun in the right seat.

Very cool! I once lucked out into a 6 passenger cessna flight from San Juan to St. Thomas and it was the most amazing view of the islands....so worth it and I just lucked into it!

The ironic thing about it is that I made the following statement to the gang BEFORE going up...

"Hmmmm....if we crash, I'm going to be responsible for putting a big dent in the Windjammer staff list...."

I thought it was pretty funny....they did not for some reason.

And then the classic while lining up on final approach to land....

"Hmmmm...I forget, how DO you land these things?"

:)

Great pictures, Steve. These picture brings back old memories. My husband had a C172 as his first plane. We would fly out to the Cape on the weekends. Great opportunity for the crew and nice of you to take them. Thanks for sharing. :wave
