Hi - Am setting up a tour for this Sunday, March 18th, before we board the YC. Am working with Fabian Tours, he suggested while we are in Marigot Bay to have lunch at Doolittles. Have searched the internet and no one seems to be too impressed with Doolittles. Can anyone give me some input. Fabian also said he'd take us to Eudovic Art Studio -- is that just a nice way of getting us to buy tacky tourist items? Or is the craft worthwhile? Any quick input would be appreciated.

Doolittle's is a cute bar/restaurant which is located across the bay from where you can charter the Moorings boats. It has a nice beach, there will be some vendors set up to sell you necklaces and such. Their lunch is good, and not quite as expensive as other places.

I enjoyed my vist there - however, I was chartering a Moorings 42' sailboat for a 3 week adventure and I was staying in the cottages on the hill above Doolittle's for a couple of days before and after so it was nice not to have to drive anywhere. Since then the area has grown quite a bit and there are other restaurants to visit at different prices and different types of food. You may wish to go by the seat of your pants on this one and wait until you get there to decide.

You will have to take a flat boat from one side of the bay to another to get to Doolittle's which add about 10 min to your visit in that area.

I was just there a few weeks ago. We stayed a night at the discovery at Marigot right across the from the place. It looked ok, but we stopped in and had a beer. It's not worth making a long drive to get there. Also a few of the nice places are not open for lunch In Marigot the rainforest hideaway was great, but not open for lunch.

If you are looking for an awesome lunch, try this place:

I've been to Doolittle's a few times. It's cute and the food is okay. It's nothing spectacular. The first time I went, they had tables in the sand and a bunch of us got terrible bites from sand flees. When we went back the next year, they had paved the whole area and the tables were on cement and not in the sand, so no bites that time.
