Never been on a Windjammer Cruise...thinking about booking Pirate Week 2005...need advice:

What type of cabin do I want to book? Do all of the cabin bathrooms get soaked when you take a shower?

Recommendations for hotel in St. Lucia for pre-cruise stay.

What special things should I bring for Pirate week?

What age range is the norm for Pirate Week?

PW is for adults only and the age can range from 21 to 80 or above. Yes to the bathrooms get soaked, but heck it's an ADVENTURE!!! Standard cabins are that, standard, you're never in them except to shower and sleep. :cheers

Uh......... Actually the bathroom IS the shower. I guess it really depends on the position of the lid though.

Like Tambo said, you are in the cabin so little that I don't think it is worth the difference in cost to get better than a standard anyway. But that's just me.

Most Pax stay at the Bay Gardens, although due to overbooking last Dec., I was displaced to the COCO KREOLE. The COCO advertises about $30 less per night, and is an easy walk, to the Bay Gardens. The accommodations are equivalent (right spicebitch? ;)), the most noticeable difference is that the bar is smaller, and there is no restaurant. However, it is on a street with 12 restaurants and much bigger bars. It just went through a major upgrade this year too. I only saw the plans for it, but I would definitely stay there again. :thumbsup

Hey Ralph, I just read an article ( major alzheimer's moment since I can't remember which mag ) about the Coco Kreole and it being a 5 star hotel. Also it's sister hotel. Can't remember that name either :yikes

I would try to get what ever cabin you can get now. Most are likely getting filled up fast. Mandalay is completely full I was told. So I would book soon.

The head shower combo isn't that big of a deal and I think all of the room are the same from that standpoint. The stewards wipe it down every morning when they clean the rooms or you can do it if needed. Again no big deal.

We are thinking of staying at the Ti Kaye Village Resort or Stonefield Estate Villa Resort. I like the locations and accommodations. Both are located in a beautiful setting.

As for what to bring? I don't really know as I haven't been on Pirate week but I don't think there is a wrong answer. Likely a Pirate outfit. Lots of Tylenol or Motrin I would think! A good attitude and spirit of adventure.

We are going to be on Mandalay. Hope to see you there!

Roger
