Check out " Love Cruise: The Maiden Voyage" tonight 6/13 on the Fox Reality Network, Channel 250 on Direct TV. It features 16 singles (8 men and 8 women) on the Mandalay departing Grenada !
Heck, on a typical WJer singles cruise, we have 50 single men and 50 single women with outrageous encounters you won't ever see on this network, but there are some great shots of the Mandy, the crew, and the Caribbean.

Schedule: 6/13 7:00 PM MDT
6/13 8:15 PM MDT
6/14 3:00 PM MDT
6/14 4:15 PM MDT
6/14 7:00 PM MDT
Bushwacker - was this a replay of the trip that was taken about 3 years ago - boy, I remember watching the first run of this while working at Windjammer - it sure entertained all of us - the MY with china, persian rugs on deck, chairs and tables on deck - and don't forget the hot tub....
Cinnemon,
Can't you setup the tivo via the internet? maybe that is just the newer ones. Bummer. I haven't seen it but would love to sit there and laugh. talking about china, rugs and deck chairs reminds me of the Seinfeld episode where Jerry and Elaine took a Southwest flight to NY. It had food service, first class with champagne and slippers. Such a stretch for Southwest.
If only i had a home phone line i could get a tivo...but alas.
Have a great day all!
I saw it the first time out - then went on a singles cruise and half the PAX's were newbies and about half of them expected it to be a "love" cruise - all you can do is laugh!
Oh, you should have been working in the home office during and after that program.

All I could do was sit there and laugh - we would watch every episode at a local watering hole, and it was the cheapest entertainment ever, and the questions we were asked - and then, when they came back - the complaints we received because the linen wasn't embordered, the plates weren't china, there weren't palm trees on the deck - and heaven forbid - no deck chairs - we loved the program for the entertainment it provided those of us in the office - but we also hated the program for all of the misunderstandings and questions we were asked.....

Meg - I actually had an older gentleman ask me (with a lisp no less) where are the sex games! I told him he was on the wrong cruise! Several other gentlemen (and i use that term loosely) wondered why they hadn't found them a date yet - I asked him - who exactly was supposed to find him a date? Never got a good answer to that!

Oh well, to each their own !

I still had a good time!
oh, Kim I believe that - when booking a singles cruise - even without that program on - is a challenge...questions like - how old are the women/men, what do they look like, can I see pictures before booking, etc etc etc.....it was all I could do to keep a straight face while speaking to them, and yes, I would bend over laughing afterwards.

Seeing pictures before you book -what is this match.com!! LOL - oh well, I guess everyone has their own expectations for their vacations. I go expecting to have a great time, and I always do!

Thanks for the laugh!
Silly, Everyone knows you can't grow palm trees on ship decks, and rugs just don't make sense, but you're kidding about there not being any china and embroidered sheets, aren't you? AREN'T YOU??? Please tell me you're kidding!?!? And surely the deck hands wear dress whites with gloves.... right? RIGHT?!? The New Kid.

One of my sheets the second week had Windjammer Barefoot Cruise on it, but that was all the embroidary i saw. Actually i thought those might be a good seachest item.
Now, the dress whites with gloves, that is only during costume night.

Boy if anyone could tivo/record that and make dvds, that would be great...it was actually a good show. Same producers as "The Real World" I was disappointed that it was only on one season. (The subtitle "Maiden Voyage" hints that more were planned.)
It's depiction of Windjamming was a little off base. I remember 30 sec. spots for Windjammer at the end of each installment. I've never seen TV ads for them before or since.

Guess which system we have @ work?

Although the network also has distribution agreements in place with Cox Communications, Adelphia and DirecTV’s DBS rival Dish Network, Fox Reality will not go live on those affiliates until this summer.
OK... up front, let me say that I haven't been on a trip yet with windjammer... but I've researched enough to know what to expect... I watched about 10 minutes last night and moved on to other projects...

REALITY TV?!?!?

Will there ever been any "Reality TV" programs based on reality? I have a suggestion. Why not do documentaries on the Darwin Awards. Now that would be Reality TV at it's best!!!

Polynesia 3
Yankee Clipper 2
Mandalay 1
Fantome 1

And now 1 week on CSE's Caledonia
I watched the Lust Cruise for about 10 minutes before muting the sound - too much talking to the camera & bickering. As for reality TV the only thing I like is Fear Factor (regular episodes) cuz there is no bickering & no "hidden cameras". Dog Eat Dog also had its moments. The things some people do for money!
