Sunburnin,

If you possibly have enough energy and time to exhaust the North Central/West Shore (Cane Garden, Carrot, Apple, and Long Bay), there are some other options.

The French Restaurant downtown, Le Cabanon, is a BIG favorite of locals. That's where we go when everything else is closed.

Another good breakfast is at the Jolly Roger Inn at West End. In fact, it was just voted Best Breakfast in the BVI. A restaurant which won "best" or honorable mention is Eclipse in East End. (best Appetizers, best Chef, etc.) The Tamarind Club, above Josiah's Bay, won "Best Gourmet Dining"

Unfortunately, a favorite spot of mine, Virgin Queen, voted Best Pizza, just burned down last week! SkyWorld was voted "Best Place to Take Visitors". I wasn't impressed with the lunch last summer, but have had many dinners there recently that were all great! Arrive in time to watch the sunset over cocktails - you have a 360-degree view of all the islands, even Anegada on a clear day. At night you can see the lights from San Juan! Take a jacket, it's the coolest and windiest spot on the island.

When you reach Sandra's, pick up a copy of the BVI Guide magazine - she has them in the office. It will give you a complete list of restaurants, bars, beaches, etc. If you want to do a daysail on a catamaran, see my friend Robin of "Kuralu". He does a great trip! (Just voted "Best", too.)

As to beaches, the amount of waves depends upon the swell direction. They prevail from the east, leaving all the north shore beaches pretty calm. Occasional north or northwest swells require a bit more effort to find a quiet spot.
