 Post subject: sail right before wet dock?

We are planning our 2nd WJ sailing (yeah!) & are looking at the San Blas itinerary. We are needing to sail August / September due to scheduling conflicts. The Mandalay goes into wet dock after the Sept 9 sailing.

If given a choice, would it be better to NOT sail close to scheduled wet dock or does it matter? In other words, would we be better off sailing in August versus September?

:wave I don't think i would be worried about sailing before wet dock. I am more concerned about the first cruise out of wet/dry dock. to many potential delays could throw wrenches into your trip.

Hey, the Yankeenesia trip was caused by Drydocking problems with the Poly. HOWEVER it worked even BETTER for us "Poly rejects"! Huh Lynda? Terry? Sally? :rofl Experience is knowledge, the rest is just information! C. Heikkila

I wouldn't worry....it's rare that there are problems prior to dry or wet dock. They patch all the holes in the hull during drydock though, so make sure you bring lots of sponges to dry out the floor of your room if you're planning no being aboard prior to drydock. I'd also suggest a small 12-volt pump that you can buy at Radio Shack to ensure the floor of your cabin remains dry.
